Our Story

Our quiet promise.

"What if a memorial could be both the stone you could touch and the story you could read?"

Memory QR began with a single question: what if a memorial could be both the stone you can touch and the story you can read?

Today, Dayna leads a quiet team of twenty-eight makers across workshops in Vermont, Yorkshire and County Cork. Every QR is sealed under sapphire glass and salt-spray tested for forty years of weather. Every memorial is hosted in perpetuity, held in a legal trust separate from the company.

The Memory QR Difference

A memorial that does what a stone alone cannot.

A name on stone is a beautiful, ancient thing. A bonded QR adds the rest ÔÇö the voice, the photographs, the day-to-day life that no headstone could ever hold.

Hand-Finished, Always

Every stone, plaque, pendant and tag is hand-finished in our small workshops in Vermont, Yorkshire and County Cork — signed by the maker who shaped it.

Sapphire-Sealed QR

The unique QR is bonded under a sapphire-glass window with marine-grade resin. Salt-spray tested for forty years of weather, in any climate.

Hosted in Perpetuity

Lifetime hosting is included in every keepsake. No renewals, no subscriptions, no surprise invoices — the memorial is yours, forever.

Private by Default

Public, unlisted, or password-protected. Most families choose unlisted. You approve every photograph, voice note and letter before it goes live.

No App, Ever

Just the camera and the keepsake. The memorial loads quietly, on any phone, anywhere in the world — no login, no download, no friction.

Held in Legal Trust

Memory QR is structured as a legal trust, separate from the company. The memorials outlive the business. The only thing we promise is forever.

Our Process

How a Memory QR memorial comes to be.

You can take an afternoon, or a year. The memorial grows the way memory grows ÔÇö slowly, and back to front.

1

Choose a keepsake

A stone for the garden. A plaque for a chapel wall. A pendant for a pocket. Every keepsake is hand-finished and shipped in protective wool felt.

2

We bond your QR by hand

In our Yorkshire workshop, the unique QR is sealed under sapphire glass with marine-grade resin. Tested for forty years of weather before it leaves us.

3

Build the memorial ÔÇö at your own pace

A quiet drag-and-drop builder. Photographs, voice notes, letters, songs, a timeline, a guestbook. There is no rush. You can take an afternoon or a year.

4

Invite the people who loved them

Up to twelve contributors. Each can add their own memories ÔÇö photographs you have never seen, recordings you forgot existed. You approve everything that goes live.

5

Choose who can see it

Public, unlisted, or password-protected. Most families choose unlisted. You can change the setting any time, including years from now.

6

Your keepsake ships, wrapped by hand

Wool felt envelope. Recycled-card box. A handwritten card from our team. Posted to 64 countries with tracking, free on orders over $120.

7

Touch your phone. The memorial opens.

No app. No login. Just the camera and the keepsake. The memorial loads quietly. Their life is there, exactly as you have built it.

8

Held in trust, forever

Lifetime hosting is included. Memory QR is structured as a legal trust so memorials outlive the business. The only thing we promise is forever.

Testimonials

Words from families.

From 64 countries, written in quiet rooms, often weeks or months after their keepsake arrived.

I scanned the stone for the first time on what would have been our anniversary. Forty-two photographs I had never seen, three voice notes from our grandchildren, and a letter Patrick had written me the year before he died. The most thoughtful gift our family has ever been given.

Bess was with our family for fourteen years. The garden stone sits where her bed used to be. My daughter brings her phone to it every morning before school. Three months on, none of us are ready to put her bed away ÔÇö but the stone has made the room feel less empty.

The pendant arrived two weeks after Mam's funeral. I haven't taken it off since. The whole family has the same link ÔÇö eighty-one years of photographs, the recipe for her brown bread in her own handwriting, the only recording we have of her singing. I keep finding things I never knew about her.

I had Storm for nineteen of his twenty-two years. The bronze plaque is on the stable door. Every new horse that comes into the yard, we scan it and tell them about him. It sounds soft, but it has made the yard feel like a place that remembers.

Losing my brother at thirty-one broke the family. The memorial we built together ÔÇö my parents, my sister-in-law, his friends from school ÔÇö has become the place we all meet on his birthday. People add a memory, a photograph, a song. It is the only thing about losing him that has felt like building, not just losing.

My grandfather built the house we now live in. The bronze plaque is on the porch. His memorial has the original blueprints he drew in 1962, his war letters, and a video my dad made of him explaining how he laid the foundation. My children will know him.

Bramble was a rescue. We had her for seven good years. The collar tag is on the new dog now ÔÇö a small one we picked from the same shelter. The memorial has every photo we have of Bramble, and a paragraph I wrote about her on the night she died. The new dog has her own page that links to Bramble's.

I built this as a 75th birthday gift for my mother. Her whole life ÔÇö every photograph my aunt could find, every letter, the recording she made of her grandmother in 1979. She wept when she scanned it. Then she added three things of her own. The Living Legacy is the most loved gift I have ever given.

What exactly is a Memory QR memorial?

A Memory QR is two things in one: a beautifully made physical keepsake ÔÇö a stone, a plaque, a pendant or a tag ÔÇö and a private digital memorial that opens when someone touches a phone to it. The memorial is yours to build at your own pace. Add photographs, voice notes, letters, songs, timelines, anything that matters. Only people with the link (or the keepsake) can see it.

How long do you host the memorial?

In perpetuity. Your one-time purchase covers lifetime hosting ÔÇö and we have set the company up as a legal trust so that the memorials outlive Memory QR as a business. If the company ever wound down, the trust would continue hosting every existing memorial. We take this very seriously. It is the heart of what we sell.

Is the memorial private? Who can see it?

You decide. Every memorial has three privacy levels: Public (searchable, anyone can find), Unlisted (only people with the link), and Password-Protected (link + password). Most families choose Unlisted. You can change the setting at any time, and you can revoke or rotate the password whenever you wish.

Do I need an app to scan the keepsake?

No. Every modern phone ÔÇö iPhone or Android ÔÇö can scan a QR code straight from the camera app. No downloads, no logins on the visitor's side, nothing to remember. Just open the camera and hold it near the keepsake. The memorial opens in the browser, gently.

How long does the QR code last? What if it fades?

Our QR codes are protected under a sapphire-glass window bonded with marine-grade resin. We salt-spray-test the assembly for the equivalent of forty years of outdoor weather. If the surface ever does damage, we will re-bond a fresh QR linked to the same memorial ÔÇö for the lifetime of the keepsake, free.

Who is the memorial for ÔÇö people, pets, or both?

Both, and more. We build keepsakes for people, pets, horses, milestones (anniversaries, retirements), companies, and institutional spaces (chapels, schools, university benches). The keepsake changes shape; the privacy, the hosting, and the care behind it all stay the same.

Can multiple people contribute to one memorial?

Yes ÔÇö and many of the most loved memorials are built this way. As the memorial owner, you can invite up to twelve contributors. Each contributor can add their own photographs, stories and voice notes. You can approve or remove anything they add. Many families find this is the most healing part of building the memorial.

What about the keepsake itself ÔÇö how is it made?

Hand-finished, by people we know. River stones are hand-selected from glacial deposits in Vermont and Yorkshire. Bronze is lost-wax cast in a Yorkshire foundry that has been running since 1879. Walnut comes from a single FSC-certified mill in Pennsylvania. Every piece is signed by its maker on the underside.
Our Promise

Six promises we have written down.

Hand-finished. Privacy-first. Lifetime hosting. Held in trust. Hallmarked materials. Sixty-day returns. Plain and quiet.

Hallmarked Materials

Sterling silver, cast bronze, oiled oak, hand-picked river stone. Every keepsake is built from materials chosen to outlast a generation.

60-Day Returns

If a keepsake is not quite right, send it back within sixty days for a full refund. No questions, no forms, no awkward emails.

Private & Secure

Bank-level SSL at checkout. Memorials are private by default — only the people you invite ever see them.

Held in Trust, Forever

Memory QR is structured as a legal trust separate from the company. The memorials outlive the business. That is the only promise that matters.
