Pocket Memory Coin

The Pocket Memory Coin is the keepsake people reach for without thinking. It is the weight of a heavy old pound, hand-finished in jewellers' brass, the size that fills the curve of a thumb. After a few months of being carried it will be smooth and warm and slightly worn ??? that is the design. The brass is meant to age with you.

The QR is sealed flush on the reverse beneath sapphire glass, completely bath-proof, river-proof, washing-machine-proof, and tested over forty equivalent years of carry. Most carriers never have to do anything to it. Tap a phone against it and the full memorial opens ??? photographs, voice notes, written tributes ??? but the coin itself stays the same warm small thing it has always been.

Many of our owners do not show the coin to anyone. It sits in a pocket. It sits on a desk. It sits in a hand during a difficult phone call. A few people have written to tell us they keep theirs in the watch pocket of a pair of jeans and put their thumb on it before any hard conversation. We did not design it for that, exactly, but we are glad of it.

Engraved on the front with the name and the dates. Comes in a small vegetable-tanned leather pouch wrapped in raw cotton. Each coin is signed on the rim by the maker who finished it. If the brass ever wears too smooth to read, we re-engrave it for free, for the lifetime of the carrier.
